A MoU has been signed on 9th
November, 2009 in Dhaka
between Barind
Multipurpose Development
Authority (BMDA) and
Energypac Agro Ltd. (EAL)-
Agro
G Seeds to facilitate mutual
understanding, research
collaboration, seed
production,
supply, distribution and
marketing, training of staff
and other related fields of
activities and interests
between two reputed
organizations of the country.
Mr. S.M. Abdul Mannan,
Executive Director, Barind
Multipurpose Development
Authority (BMDA), Rajshahi
and Mr. Humayun Rashid, CEO
and Corp. Director,
Energypac Agro Ltd ( EAL),
Dhaka signed the MoU on
behalf of their respective
organizations. Mr. Md. Nurul
Islam Thandu, Chairman, BMDA,
Dr S. B. Naseem,
Senior Vice President, EAL
and Mr. Md. Abu Taleb Bhuiya,
Additional Chief
Engineer, BMDA were also
present in the signing
ceremony.
It was agreed that BMDA and
EAL will cooperate in
promoting both research and
development activities of two
organizations and enhancing
opportunities for
research, commercialization
of crop varieties and
training of the staff of both
the
organizations.
It was further agreed that
these two organizations will
undertake the following
activities for the overall
development of Agriculture
and improvement of farmers’
livelihood in Barind areas :
a) Seed production.
b) Seed marketing and
distribution.
c) Training and Demonstration.
d) Using solar energy for
irrigation & other
agricultural activities.
e) Research and development.
The MoU will remain effective
initially for five years and
will be extended upon
mutual consent from both the
organizations
