Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Visits Energypac Agro Ltd.
Bangladesh celebrated the 50th anniversary of IRRI during July 13-14, 2010 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Begum Matia Chowdhury, Honorable Minister for Agriculture, Dr. M A Razzaque, Honorable Minister for Food and Disaster Management, Dr. R.S. Zeigler, Director General, IRRI and Mr C.Q.K. Mustaq Ahmed, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture graced the occasion being present at the inaugural session.
An international rice fair was also organized on the occasion where Energypac Agro Ltd. (Agro-G) participated along with other major seed organizations of the country.
Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the stalls and enquired about the progress of seed sector of Bangladesh. Dr. S B Naseem, Senior Vice President, Energypac Agro Ltd. briefly presented the major present and future activities of Agro G to the Honorable Prime Minister and the members of her entourage. Later Dr. Naseem presented a small packet of Agro-G Banglamati rice, grown by the company at its own production fields to the Honorable Prime Minister.
