Through the inaugural ceremony held on last 20 November 2009 to open block for commencing hybrid rice seed production program, Energypac Agro Ltd. (EAL) stepped into another avenue to green revolution. EAL has made this effort to align with the pledge to always remain a dependable source of agricultural inputs that will guarantee national food security of the country. EAL is carrying out hybrid rice seed production in the brand name ‘Agro G 2’ in a land of 55 acres in the village of Ashgram under the Sherpur Upazila of Bogra district. This variety will be released in the market in next Boro season.

Abu Ahammed, head teacher of local school, graced the occasion as chairman and Humayun Rashid, CEO and Director of EAL was present chief guest in the block opening program. Dr. S.B. Naseem, Senior Vice President of the company was also present as a special guest. Abdul Mannan, Marketing Manager, Abdul Hamid, Production Manager and other officers of EAL and the contract farmers and farmer’s coordinator Rafiqul Islam attended the ceremony. Later they observed the land and its feasibility for hybrid rice seed production.

Mr Humayun Rashid described the overalls goals of Energypac Agro and pledged to continue efforts to produce excellent quality seeds for our farmers. Dr. S.B. Naseem expects production will yield satisfactory marketable seed from the plot as it combines quality stock seed, favorable soil condition and continuously proper nursing by specialized scientists of EAL.

Earlier Abdul Hamid described the detailed characteristics and production process of Agro G 2 and Abdul Mannan presented different activities of the company before the big gathering of people.
