Energypac Agro team meets IFC Director for South-Asia
A team of Energypac personnel meets the IFC Director for South Asia Mr. Paolo Martelli on 22 March at the IFC premises, Gulshan, Dhaka. The team was headed by Mr. Humayun Rashid, CEO of Eenergypac group of companies. Mr. Mrinal Sircar and Ms Anika Ali greeted the group on behalf of IFC and briefed about the purpose of the meeting.
Ms. Farzana Rahman Shanta, Senior officer of Energypac Power Generation Ltd. (EPGL) presented an overview of the company. Mr. Martelli was very keen to know much more about the company and Mr. Rashid satisfied him answering all the question he asked.
Dr. S B Naseem, Senior Vice President, Energypac Agro Ltd. (EAL) presented the activities of EAL and about the on-going and past collaboration of EAL with IFC-SEDF. Mr. Martelli was very satisfied about the outcome of EAL-SEDF activities. He, however, emphasized the need to disseminate stress tolerant rice varieties to coastal farmers and to increase the number of beneficiaries to 100,000, if possible, in future. Dr. Naseem assured him that this could be possible if IFC-SEDF extends their support in this regards.
Mr. Ian Crosby, Manager, IFC was also present during the presentations. The other members of the Energypac team were, Mr. K A Billah, Mr. K A Kabir, Dr. Anwar Hossain, Mr. Mirza Md. Zakaria and Mr. A. Hamid.
